Kate has demonstrated expertise in both the front and back end of the construction process, with a strong focus on contract review and negotiations and providing advice to builders, developers and owners corporations regarding statutory warranties and the duty of care of design and building practitioners.

Kate’s experience in construction and strata dispute resolution makes her an asset to the commercial litigation team. Kate is well experienced in the preparation of legal documentation for litigated matters in both NCAT and Supreme Court, including originating proceeding applications and defences, lay affidavits, and instructing specialist building experts. Kate draws on her years of industry experience and exceptional attention to detail when advising clients through to settlement or contested hearings.

Kate advises homeowner clients on home building and strata-related issues, including defect liability and rectification, enforcement, maintenance responsibilities and by-laws. Kate is also experienced in statutory debt recovery and bankruptcy proceedings, offering valuable insights on levy recovery in strata.
