Eric Boone


Eric Boone joined Madison Marcus in 2022 as the divisional lead of Banking & Finance and Sustainability & ESG- Environmental, Social & Governance.

With a history of advisory across companies, banks, funds and assets managers in Australia, New Zealand and the larger Pacific region on a wide range of complex bank financings, institutional investments, capital market offerings of equity and debt securities and regulations, Boone is qualified in both Australia and the US with admissions in NSW and New York, respectively.  Boone advises lenders and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated credit facilities with a team that is well equipped to advise and manage work streams on facilities involving foreign obligors and security grantors.  He advises issuers/borrowers and banks in connection with debt restructurings and liability management transactions.  Boone also advises trustees, security trustees and agents in the region on various debt programmes. 

Boone also specialises in the advisory around Social Impact/Sustainability and compliance under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth). He has been an active influence in his pursuit of pro-bono collaborations with legal tech providers, leading community legal centres and law school clinics in an effort to advance innovative solutions and extend access to justice for vulnerable communities with a particular focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities.
