James Moir

James is a Director in the Strata Division of Madison Marcus. He was admitted as a solicitor 30 years ago and has specialised in strata law since 2010. With a background in property law, James has expertise in selling common property, amending and terminating strata plans, acquiring easements, and all facets of by-law work, including developer by-laws. He also has a strong practice in the litigation areas of strata law, such as running contested tribunal hearings, tree root matters, dividing fence cases, and advising on various access to neighboring land matters.

In addition, James has extensive experience in defect claims and acts for both owners corporations and builders/developers. This expertise places James and his team at Madison Marcus in a strong position to resolve these matters quickly and cost-effectively.

James is also heavily involved in education and has presented educational seminars to both lawyers and strata managers.
