Before joining Madison Marcus, Paul held senior leadership positions at leading national law firms. His dual qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Sydney and Law from Macquarie University equip him to deliver commercially strategic and well-rounded legal advice to both public and private sector clients.
Paul’s areas of expertise include development appeals, statutory order appeals, compulsory acquisition matters, heritage planning, biodiversity and infrastructure agreements, valuation disputes, and civil enforcement proceedings. He also advises on due diligence for land transactions, contaminated land management, and regulatory compliance at local and state levels.
Highly regarded in his field, Paul is an active contributor to law reform and professional development in the field of planning law. He sits on the Law Society of NSW Specialist Accreditation Board, the Law Society of NSW Planning & Environment Advisory Committee for Accredited Specialists, and the Law Society of NSW’s Environmental Planning & Development Committee. He also serves as Chair of the Bayside Local Planning Panel and as an expert panel member for Randwick Council.
