Michael is a Special Counsel at Madison Marcus who heads up our Employment and Workplace Relations Division. Since his admission as a Solicitor nearly 20 years ago, Michael has practiced in NSW, ACT and the United Kingdom.
Michael has significant experience in civil litigation advising clients in complex, contentious and non-contentious matters of broad areas of the law. His Employment and Workplace relations expertise includes representing and advising clients in matters regarding:
- Discrimination;
- Unfair dismissal;
- Bullying;
- General protections (including adverse action);
- Harassment;
- Occupational Health and Safety Compliance
- Contractual issues.
Michael is an Accredited Specialist NSW Motor Vehicle Law and Personal Injury / Clinical Negligence cases. Michael also has a special interest and experience in the Crisis Management of “White Collar” crimes, including:
- Copyright infringement;
- Cybercrime;
- Fraud;
- Identity theft
- Tax invasion
- Insider trading
- Money laundering
Michael is skilled in dispute resolution through negotiation, conciliation, mediation, arbitration and court-based litigation including, where necessary, Australian Courts of Appeal and the High Court of Australia.
Michael has acted in a number of noteworthy and high profile cases in the Australian press and has represented client’s interests in 2 major judicial inquiries instituted by the NSW Government in 1999 and 2003.
